Is it me or did anyone else have a problem with soldering this part. The pads are soooooo tiny and make it a little difficult. Any soldering advice

I had a lot of trouble with the small stuff, except the gain switch... for some reason the gain switch was very easy for me.

It seemed to help me solder the small stuff once I was careful to find the spot on the pad where the lead was farthest from, and find the largest gap between them. Then I carefully put the tip in the gap to make as much contact as possible.

I learned the hard way that the very tip of the iron doesn't do much. It has to touch the sides of the tip a little...

This is from CuriousInventor.com. They have a great soldering guide. It has TONS of detail, and I need the details. I thought I did a horrible job soldering my 2448 PSU and SC-1 preamps, but they all worked perfect the first time. I also asked owel thousands of questions, and he still responded practically instantly.

Heat the component lead and copper by positioning the soldering iron's tip so it's touching both (maybe a second or two)... then slowly move the solder lead into the joint (preferably in between the component lead and iron, or opposite side of the iron). Move the solder lead away, keep the iron in place for a second, and then move the iron away.
