Should the Analog VU Meter buffering be part of the IO-Module?

Is this a feature you think most people would use?

Would you pay for this extra feature/i.e. extra parts in the kit?

OR would a 4 LED metering system work better for most people?
i.e. it will be -18dB, 0dB, +18dB, CLIP

i.e. where 0dB on the SC-1 LED metering will correspond to -18dBFS on your DAW, and +18dB LED metering will correspond to 0dBFS on your DAW... and CLIP is you know what...

My humble opinion is that you should put the LED's on the IO Module and maybe make a second buffer circuit if you feel like it. The buffer circuit is really small (even the fancy one I made that does both peak mode and vu mode) and it cost about 5 dollars in parts minus the circuit board. The buffer circuit is so small you can mount it right on the analog meters directly.

The LED's would probably be more useful to people since its a cheap built-in meter and while analog meters look cool they are pricey...

In fact here is my work in progress board I did up in EAGLE today. If you like I can send you the EAGLE schematic I made for it. It might save you some time if you decide to make the circuit. I'm sure you'd rather make your own board. This one is single sided because I wasn't sure if I was going to etch it myself or not.

Good point.

Why don't you provide it for SC-1 buyers? :)

That's an interesting idea. :) I'll have to look into how much it costs for the boards and stuff in quantity once I get it working. I'm not really comfortable doing support stuff though. My electronics skills are in the neophyte category...
