This is the 2nd candidate enclosure for use with the SC-1 Solo

I may be able to get another 0.1 - 0.2" usable inside height on this case... we'll see...

If this case fits an IO-Module comfortably, this will be the winner.

Just got my shipment samples of these cases.

This is a very nice case... much nicer than the black extruded I'm currently using. Because the top cover is removable, it will also be easier to work with... it's also cheaper! So I really really want to use this case.

Problem is it's too small.... NO.. the problem is the size is JUST PERFECT for the SC-1 board and PSU board based on my original plans.

But on my previous postings, I told you about how the PSU board needs to be 2.25" away from the XLR jacks to fix the whining problem... i.e. I need to move the inductors away from the XLR jacks.

This case has no room for such buffer distance.

So this morning, an idea hits my head. (solutions to problems usually comes to me at the weirdest times and places).

I'm thinking of redesigning AGAIN the switching PSU PCB. Arrrgghh... I'm going to hold off sending the Rev.1.7 PCB to the manufacturer.

I need to redesign the PCB so the inductors are not positioned right under the XLR jacks and move the inductors towards the front of the PCB, near the output pins. That way, any junk spewed by the inductor won't hit the XLR jacks so directly and so close.

i.e. I can't move the PCB away from the XLR jacks... but I CAN move the inductors away.

I'd probably call this PCB design a 2.0 instead of a Rev1.8. This will be a drastic redesign but it may be what's needed to keep this project alive.
