 Post subject: Transformer elevation

If you're soldering an input transformer, it is a good idea to have a few mm of clearance from the bottom of the board (especially if your PCB is homemade and don't have solder mask.)

You can use a piece of folded paper, or some cardboard, or some kind of metal strip to elevate the transformer off the board. Solder the transformer, and when you're done soldering, pull the piece of paper or cardboard out.
