Hi, I'm a happy user of a 4ch SC-1 preamp I made last year. I have an extra psu-1848 that I think I could use in my upcoming dual mono G1176 project. The 1848 would have to supply +30/-10 volts for two G1176 boards. Is there any reason why this would not work? Thanks.

I forgot to mention that the meter lamps would also need something like +11.5 volts. One guy did the dual g1176 project with a psu like this and that got me thinking my ready made 1848 would handle the job equally well.

I think the current draw of the 1176's would be the limiting factor. Im guessing since this thing can run up to 8 preamp cards, i'd think you'd be okay.

Incidentally... are you getting a couple mnats pcbs for this? If so, they come with on board PSU's as well as another PSU PCB that will run a dual 1176 (at least, where i get them from they do). That's a cool site/resource for the 1176, by the by.

I received the mnats rev J G1176 boards yesterday. The building instructions and the use of a separate psu are well documented on the mnats site. I guess the 1848 will do just fine as it is if the trim pots have enough leeway for suitable voltages. I think I will order the components mainly from Mouser. Or if someone can recommend other good sources for components concerning this project, I'm open for suggestions.
