Hi Ruel,

I am having fun learning that it's not always just like baking cookies making Preamps. :D I am getting an oscillation that occurs after I turn the blue Bourns pot up more than 25%. I have clean signal below that but past that point the oscillation takes over. And I want to be clear that this is oscillation and not noise. Please advise.

On another aside, I decided to omit the VU on the X12. Are there any steps I should take to ensure proper function of the pre-amp without the VU chip installed? Thanks

JB

From your earlier emails, It looks like you damaged the voltage regulators.

Now, that you've replaced the damaged regulator with new regulators, my hunch is one or all of the preamp chips also got damaged and also need to be replaced.

When building kits, I strongly suggest being careful with wiring and creating any possible shorts. Don't connect everything at the same time, power up and hope for the best. Test each component separately if possible. PSU, each preamp, etc...
