What looks better? I can't decide. Help me.

The white paint fill "pops out"... and is very clear and bright. But seems drab and lacks personality.

The yellow has "personality" and not boring like white. But I'm not sure if I like the yellow.

These are Testors model paint by the way.

I prefer the white. And the white lines on the knobs match, too, making the color scheme more uniform and more professional. If you think white looks a little too "sterile", how about using a cream color?

Good point about the knob. Thanks.

I think I'll try one of the creamier/grayish whites. There's lots of colors to choose from as these are model paints. Gunmetal. Aircraft aluminum.

I tried "Camouflage Gray" ... that's what the bottle says.

I like it better. It still looks kinda white, but doesn't look so white like a fake teeth whitening commercial. It has a sort of dull/muted whitish/light grayhish color.

I think it sits better on the panel too (colorwise).

The white filling looks definitely better..:)

If I may suggest a panel color for your upcoming preamp, brushed copper would be awesome. Dunno if it's feasable though.

Hmmm...You're the 2nd person to suggest the copper color...

Unfortunately, anodizing in that color is not avaialble.

Maybe if I switch to painted finish.... but that would also mean a change from engraved labels to silkscreen labeling.

...but would it be possible to use a copper front panel instead of aluminium?

Hmmm... I'll think about it and do some experimentation.

The good thing is I color them myself. So if you want a particular color, I can probably do it as long as the colors can be found here...
http://www.testors.com/category/135894/Enamel_Paints

If I have the color in my stock, no extra charge even. :)

I checked the COPPER panels... very expensive... like 10x the cost of the aluminum at the thickness I need.

It was just a suggestion and besides, it's what INSIDE that matters.
Can't wait for your first unit to arrive!

I appreciate the suggestion. I like copper (our roof gutters and flashings are made of copper).

But Cu is expensive right now.

Four years ago, it may have been possible. But demand for copper in China is high and that pushed Cu prices up.
