We just released the PEQ-503 and we also got API VPR Certification on these babies! Yay!!!! (by "we", I'm actually talking about I, me and mine.)
These EQs are getting rave reviews from my 1st and 2nd batch of customers! Loving it's mojo, the smoothness of it's response, and the beefiness of the lows, and the nice airy top. Customers say you can go subtle with the effect, or go all the way. Which is what I really intended for this EQ... it's got a +/- boost and cut of 18dB per band, and 2 frequencies selectable per band.... and not only that, if the frequencies I picked don't suit your genre, you can easily shift them up or down just by moving the internal jumpers on the board... very nice to have as an option.
Tomorrow, Nov. 1st is the last day of the introductory pricing... after tomorrow, the price will be it's regular selling price. These EQs take TWICE as long to build than my preamps... I think it's because most of the parts are "non-standard"... unlike simple resistors and capacitors... I have switches, inductors, headers, 3-leg LEDs, WIMA caps, transformers... it's just time consuming inserting these parts and soldering them carefully to the board. So building an EQ is more labor intensive than building a preamp... plus, the Carnhill inductors are imported from UK and I have to deal with dollar/GBP exchange rate, currency conversion fees, import duties and the like... it's all a hassle and also more expensive. So really, the intro price of $395 for these babies are a steal... So you have less than 48 hours to place your order at the intro price... HURRY!!!!
The EQs are just off the starting gate and I'm now working on another idea... So right now, I'm drawing something on my computer that will hopefully become the next FiveFish product.... I don't know if I can release this before the end of the year, it will be a long shot if I do that... but just watch this space and check it out... it will be a surprise.... and I *think* it will be the first in the market for this kind of product. Stay tuned!
