Yep, I have on my test bench the 3rd generation of the SC-1 preamp design.

Everything works great, just a few minor adjustments on the PCB design to make more room for fatty fingers, to make assembly easy. I'll do one more prototype revision, then I think we're ready to release this product.

I'll take a photo and post it later.

Here she is... the 3rd generation SC-1.

SC-1mk3

First thing you'll notice is the bigger PCB. Also, lots more additional components, relays, 3 lighted LED push button switches, and a VU meter.

You'll notice there is a front panel installed (kinda like a 500 series preamp). The reason being the faceplate and configuration of the knobs and switches on the SC-1mk3 follow the X12 kit!

So that means, you can install this SC-1mk3 on this same rack.... with an X12 as it's next door neighbor!

I estimate the SC-1mk3 will be ready for sale by mid-July.

Did some 48Volt testing on the mk3 prototype.... and no, I don't mean phantom powering a microphone.

I mean SHORTING 48volts on the Inputs of the preamp to simulate a shorted connection to ground with 48V applied.

Say, you're plugging in a TRS jack into a patchbay WITH 48V turned ON, or you have a bad cable that's shorting to one another.

Happy to say it passed without any problems. The protection scheme I'm using on the mk3 is more robust than previous SC-1 versions. The chips ALWAYS survive without any problems. Yay!!!!
