Just an update... I've been running this DC-DC PSU for quite some time now, and I think we have a winner here!!!

No more crackling noise coming out of the pre. It turns out, one of the chips (IC2) on the SC-1 preamp was going bad, and it's not the DC-DC PSU fault for where that crackling sound was coming from.

I'll post waveforms and screenshots sometime.
